AGY WINS NMGS TRAINING AWARD 2015.

The Department of Applied Geology (AGY), School of Earth and Mineral Sciences (SEMS), Federal University of Technology Akure, has bagged the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), training award for 2015. This award is usually given to the department of Mining/Geosciences adjudged to be the most dynamic in furthering the training of geoscientists and mining in Nigeria. The award carries a cash prize of fifty thousand naira, (N50, 000.00) and a certificate of merit. It was received on behalf of the department by the head, department of Applied Geology, Dr. S.O. Olabode, during the 51st Annual Conference of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, held in Lagos between 15th and 20th of March, 2015.
